The SIS Shoe Guide
Hey SIS!
I’m all about curating the perfect workout wardrobe.
Heck, we even have our own line of adorable tops released monthly. How CUTE is this tank? It could totally pull double duty with some cutoff shorts this summer.
And this one? Definitely inspired by real life.
You can work out in whatever makes you feel great. But function DEFINITELY takes the lead when it comes to footwear.
Color-coordinated sneakers are cool for at-home strength workouts or a casual stroll, but if you’re hitting the pavement with outdoor runs, make sure those tootsies are well cared for!
It’s not just about your feet, either. Your knees, hips, EVERYTHING will feel better with the right running shoes for you.
It doesn’t how much you need neon cheetah print Brooks running shoes in your life, if you need a lot of stability, they aren’t the shoes for you.
How do you know what kind of shoes you need?
I have a quiz to share with you to determine if you are a protantor or neutral runner/walker. (Scroll to the bottom for that one!) But really the best option is to visit a specialty running store.
I know online shopping can be so much fun, but trust the experts on this. They will have you try on a variety of brands and styles to determine the best shoe for you. Many stores have a treadmill to analyze your gait and pronation level.
If you are running indoors on a treadmill, you will log many more miles in your shoes than the wear and tear shows. It’s recommended that you update your shoes regularly to prevent injury. There are all different schools of thought regarding how long or far this is, so pick what makes the most sense for you. The most important thing is that if you start to feel more sore than usual after a run, it might be time for a shoe update.
I made a quiz to help you determine what kind of shoe you might need. Click the link below to determine if you are a pronator or neutral runner. I recommend bringing your result to an expert to find the perfect fitting shoe. If you are online shopping, go with a store with a generous return policy. There’s no making do with a cute shoe, function wins over form here.
