Aldi Summer Grocery List

I’m willing to pay for quality when necessary, but darn, I love a great deal.

I am SUCH a happy girl when I find something with excellent quality AND a great price.

That’s why I’m still and forever an Aldi devotee.

I’ve written about this before…

… but I still meet people who haven’t shopped there.

GIRL. Why not?

Aldi only accepts cash. Back in the day, requiring cash payment was one more way Aldi saved money. Now they accept all major credit and debit cards. No personal checks, but like, who does?

Aldi doesn’t have grocery bags. Yes, you have to bag your own groceries, but no worries, you can just grab a box. You can buy sacks for about 10 cents, or spring for a reusable bag for a few dollars. Just remember to bring it back next time.

Aldi has weird shopping carts. The shopping carts at Aldi are chained together and require a quarter to use. It’s an incentive to return the cart and saves the company money.

Aldi has a limited selection. I don’t think this is a bad thing. I shop so much faster when I have fewer decisions to make. I love every Aldi generic food I’ve tried. Even healthy and gluten-free versions of foods are great.

Aldi is so cheap because the food is flawed in some way. False. Shop at Aldi and you’ll identify lots of ways they save money, but poor quality is definitely not one of them. Food is in boxes instead of arranged on shelves, their checkout associates are lightning-fast, and there is very little advertising. But quality is NOT an issue. In fact, if you don’t like an item for any reason, they have a money-back guarantee!

I put together a summer list for you to get an idea of what Aldi has to offer. Scroll to the bottom of this post for a link to your printable list delivered to your email. You’ll find the list divided by meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and snack type (protein or carb).

This summer at Aldi, my favorites foods are

  • All of the dips: Tzatziki, dill dip, and hummus for veggies

  • Grill-ready meals: Cilantro lime marinated chicken, baby back ribs, and sirloin steak

  • All the great sides: 90-second rice pouches, salad kits, and stuffed baby bella mushrooms

  • THE BEST charcuterie board options: Cheese, meats, olives, grapes

This is only a taste of what Aldi has to offer, so definitely grab your list and see what you and your family like.

Aldi really is awesome AND inexpensive.
