Weekend Meal Prep Made Easy: Best Tips for Women to Stay on Track
Life gets busy, and staying on top of healthy eating during the week can be a challenge. That’s why I recommend weekend meal prep for the women in our Sisterhood! A little planning (seriously, like 1 hour max!) and prep on Saturday or Sunday can set you up for a week of convenient, nutritious, healthy meals.
Here are a few of my favorite tips to make meal prep easy, efficient, and enjoyable:
1. Plan Before You Shop
Before you start chopping and cooking, make a weekly menu based on your schedule. Focus on lean proteins, fiber-rich carbs, and healthy fats to fuel your body. Then, create a grocery list to stay organized and avoid impulse buys.
*As part of our Sisterhood memberships, I create a meal plan and grocery shopping list every week. I want nutrition to be as simple as possible for our Sisters, so having the list already made makes it easy as 1-2-3.
2. Keep It Simple
Meal prep doesn’t have to mean fancy, complicated meals. Choose versatile ingredients that work in multiple dishes. Think grilled chicken, roasted veggies, quinoa or brown rice, and boiled eggs—easy to mix and match!
3. Batch Cook & Portion It Out
Cook big batches of proteins, grains, and roasted veggies so you can quickly assemble meals throughout the week. Use meal prep containers to portion out lunches and dinners for grab-and-go convenience.
4. Prep Snacks & Quick Breakfasts
Avoid mid-day cravings by prepping protein-packed snacks like Greek yogurt with berries, hard-boiled eggs, or hummus with sliced veggies. Overnight oats, smoothie bags, or egg muffins are perfect for busy mornings.
5. Use Time-Saving Tools
Slow cookers, air fryers, and sheet pan meals are lifesavers for easy, hands-off cooking. While one dish bakes, chop veggies or prep another meal to maximize efficiency.
6. Store Smartly
Use clear containers or reusable pouches to see what you have and stay organized. Keep grab-and-go snacks at eye level for quick access!
By dedicating a couple of hours on the weekend to meal prep, you’re setting yourself up for success, less stress, and healthier choices all week long.
