This week we’re pumping up the jams and giving you the playlist you need to get the blood flowing and your booty moving in your next workout.

Music has shown to be very beneficial for workouts. It can boost your mood before exercise and inspire bursts of effort, performance, and endurance. It can do all this while also minimizing perceptions of pain and fatigue. You are also less aware of your exertion which can make you push yourself even harder.

Having that perfect beat with the high tempo or empowering chorus not only makes you smile, but actually helps you crush your goals and go beyond what you thought yourself capable of. Isn’t that amazing?

Everyone has that go-to song that gets you IN THE ZONE! My personal faves are anything early 00s (high school flashbacks, right?) or old-school rap! I mean, who doesn’t want to “shake it like a Polaroid picture” when they hear that line in “Hey, Ya!”?

I also LOVE a good themed playlist. If you have been a follower of the Sisterhood for a few years, then you know my sister and I enjoy throwing together an 80s playlist and getting dressed up for the workout with fun moves and songs…ahem, Whitney, anyone?
