How to Drop 10 Pounds (or more) in 2022!
Girl, it’s that time of year.
Everywhere we go there are treats and snacks, sugar, carbs, and cocktails.
They can be SO tempting to overindulge in. And don’t get me wrong! A cheat meal or two a week is what I encourage in my nutrition programs, but when those cheat meals turn into cheat days or cheat holiday weeks…that’s when you can really start to feel crappy and begin to see what you worked so hard for begin to wash away.
So if you (like a lot of women) are looking for ways to reset your bodies and enter the new year looking and more importantly feeling your best, then girl, you’re gonna love what I have for you today.
This is my proven 3-phase process I coach my clients through when they are looking to shed the fluffy weight and tone up in a matter of weeks.
Phase 1
S.M.A.R.T. goals.
The first step to achieving results in any area of your life is setting goals. And I have found that the more specific you can be with your goals, the easier you can see progress and stay motivated to keep pushing. S.M.A.R.T. goals are my favorite for this because they are:
Specific: WHAT do you want to achieve? WHY do you want this goal? WHY do you want to make this change? HOW will you reward yourself when you hit that goal? Write your goal in this format in a place where you will see it every day. And when you are this clear on what you’re aiming for,
Measurable: How are you going to measure your progress, and how frequently will you be measuring? You need to be able to track the little steps and the big leaps you take to your goal so you can celebrate your accomplishments! This is also where I coach clients to share their goals with accountability partners and lean on these people when the tough times set in.
Attainable: Is this goal something you can achieve by the deadline you choose? Make sure it’s within your reach and not too easy nor too ambitious in the time frame you desire.
Realistic: Is this goal realistic given your current fitness level and stats? Be honest with yourself about where you are at in your journey and where you can get to. We are often too tough on ourselves and set big goals, then if we fail we consider ourselves a failure and think we can never achieve our goals. If we set smaller goals and reach them, we will start to build confidence and momentum and become unstoppable!
Time-Specific: Give yourself a clear deadline so you are motivated AF and have a clear finish line in this pursuit.
Phew! That’s just phase 1 of the process!
Phase 2
Implementation…Time to focus on exercise and nutrition!
Get clear on how you will take action daily, even hourly, so you get good habits in place. This engrains your new actions into your brain and they become reflexes instead of big choices we need to weight each day.
Phase 3
Maintenance and establishing life-long habits
We want these goals you’re pursing to be a lifelong contract you make with yourself, not a short-term solution. So how will we continue to maintain our results and reward ourselves for a job well done?
